Paul Kerr graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2019 with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering with renewable energy. He is currently in the third year of a PhD within the Institute for Energy Systems at Edinburgh University working in the areas of innovation, cost reduction, and the applications of technology transfer in the wave energy sector. So far, this work has included an evaluation of long-term cost reduction trajectories for the wave energy sector and development of a method to assess solid-state conversion technologies for wave energy applications. The PhD is funded by ETP and Wave Energy Scotland.
