Nicole Marone is currently a PhD student in Ocean Engineering at the University of New Hampshire with Dr. Martin Wosnik as her advisor. She earned a BS in Ocean Engineering and a BS in Marine Biology from the University of Rhode Island in 2016. Prior to returning to graduate school, she worked for a few years in consulting with a focus on offshore wind farms. Nicole’s research interests lie within the umbrella of ocean renewable energy.
Her current research specifically focuses on investigating the performance of tidal turbines with a goal of lowering their cost. She looks forward to exploring both environmentally friendly and ethically sourced turbine components in her future work.
