Dr. Narasimalu Srikanth is the Program Director and Principal Research Scientist leading the offshore renewables in Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N). Earlier he was with Vestas Wind Energy Ltd. As the Technical director and Senior Specialist and has overall 25 years of industrial research & development experience.
Presently he is leading industrial research projects on floating renewable system development and deployment and focuses on environmental impact assessment and structural integrity studies towards reliability towards energy security and sustainability of marine industries through a smart micro-grid enabled renewable powered system. His areas of research interest are in designing Floating hybrid renewable systems based on tidal, solar and wind related renewable systems powered through a smart micro grid and artificial intelligence based energy forecasting and load scheduling methods.
He leads a Joint industry program on offshore renewables comprising multinationals such as RollsRoyce, Keppel, Llyods Register, DNV, Schottel, Total, Terranus Solar and ClassNK and other SMES such as Centek, Envirotek, Oceanpixel, e.t.c. He represents Singapore in the International energy agency’s Ocean energy system technology initiative and supports local standards body of Singapore. He has published in more than 100 over peer-reviewed technology journals and has over thirty patents.
