Mikaela Freeman


Mikaela Freeman is a Marine Science and Policy Analyst in the Coastal Sciences Division at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

She has a Masters degree in marine policy from the University of Washington in the US. She focuses on marine renewable energy development, particularly environmental effects and socio-economic impacts as well as identifying opportunities to power and co-locate marine renewable energy with offshore aquaculture.

Mikaela also works with stakeholders including regulators, researchers, developers, and communities to understand perceptions of marine renewable energy and to share knowledge and scientific information that supports consenting decisions.
