Jason Hayman is the CEO of Sustainable Marine, which he founded in 2012. He is a qualified Naval Architect who has worked in the marine sector for more than 25 years. Jason develops technology solutions that enable the delivery of marine energy systems in challenging marine environments.
As an entrepreneur, Jason has navigated his way through the start-up labyrinth, gaining the support of a strong network of investors and partners, including propulsion experts SCHOTTEL. He built a talented international team who delivered the PLAT-I floating tidal energy platform, which was deployed in Scotland in 2017, and then relocated to Nova Scotia for long-term testing at Grand Passage in 2018.
In June, Sustainable Marine commenced delivery of instream tidal energy onto Nova Scotia’s grid. Now the team are aiming to deliver the world’s first floating tidal array at the Fundy Ocean Research Center for Energy (FORCE).
