Geir Arne Solheim (46) is the founder, inventor and CEO of the Norwegian wave energy company Havkraft AS. Solheim started his career in the wavepower business in 1998 and attended his first wave energy conference in Ålborg, Denmark, in 2000. After learning the business and having granted patents, he established Havkraft AS in 2009.
He has invented the Havkraft Wave Energy Converter (H-WEC) as a unique OWC-solution and The Powerbooster as an OWC-optimizing point absorber. His patents make up the heart of the HAVKRAFT N-CLASS (nearshore) and the HAVKRAFT O-CLASS (offshore), two of Havkraft’s current products.
